VolunTree Child Safety & Protection Policy

VolunTree is committed to the highest standards of child safety. We have a zero-tolerance policy for any form of abuse, exploitation, neglect, or unsafe conduct involving children (anyone under 18). This policy applies to all users, including volunteers, NGOs/charities, sponsors, staff, and partners using our website and app.
1)Zero Tolerance for CSAE
VolunTree strictly prohibits:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
- Sexual exploitation of minors
- Any content that endangers
Any account found violating these rules will be permanently removed and reported to appropriate authorities where required by Law
2) User Reporting and moderation
Users can report inappropriate behaviour or content directly within the app or by contacting us via email.
All reports are reviewed.u
3) Platform Requirements & Controls
- Age Limits: Users must be 18+ to create an account. Youth opportunities must be created and supervised by verified organizations, with parental/guardian consent managed by the NGO.
- VolunTree complies with all applicable child safety laws and Google Play's Child Safety Standards
4) Reporting & Response
- Report Immediately: Use the in-app “Report” tool or email contactus@voluntree.app to report concerns, suspected abuse, or policy breaches.
- Our Actions: We may pause or remove listings, suspend or ban accounts, notify partner organizations, preserve evidence, and report to law enforcement/child protection authorities where required.
- Confidentiality: Reports are handled sensitively; information is shared strictly on a need-to-know basis to protect children and the reporting party.
5) NGO/Organizer Responsibilities
Organizations posting roles that may involve children must:
- Maintain and share their safeguarding policy, name a Safeguarding Lead, and provide contact info.
- Conduct risk assessments for activities, including transport, venues, online components, and photography.
- Ensure screening/vetting and role-appropriate training for staff/volunteers.
- Keep incident logs and inform VolunTree promptly of any safeguarding incident connected to a listing.
6) Privacy & Data Protection
- We apply data-minimisation, access controls, encryption at rest/in transit, and retention limits.
- Children’s personal data (and parental consents) must be handled by NGOs in line with applicable data-protection laws.
7) Enforcement
- Violations may result in warnings, content removal, immediate suspension or permanent bans, termination of NGO access, and referral to authorities.
- VolunTree reserves the right to refuse or remove any listing that does not meet our safeguarding standards.
Note: NGOs must comply with all applicable local and national child-protection laws and regulations where activities occur.
